The PIA repeals the extant petroleum related laws and introduces significant changes to the legal and governance structures, administrative processes, regulatory and fiscal terms, and host community engagements in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.

At the end of this training, participants should be able:

Examine the need for changes in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA)
Discuss specific changes made to the PIA in relation to taxation of Oil & Gas businesses in Nigeria
Discuss changes to the governance and regulatory frame work across value chains for Oil & Gas businesses in Nigeria
Describe the introduction of Host Community framework and it’s impact in Oil and Gas operations in Nigeria
Evaluate the impacts of fiscal changes in the PIA and it’s impacts on Oil & Gas businesses in Nigeria
